Bill Vine is an experimental composer, performer, improviser, audio/visual artist and instrument maker.

Bill has worked with national and international artists across multiple art forms, including renowned composer Gavin Bryars, Vinicius Salles (choreographer, Brazil), John Boursnell (writer, Scotland), Adrian Lever (pianist, England/Serbia), and Blitz Club/New Romantic pioneer Rusty Egan.

He is lead artist/artistic director and composer for [UNIT], an audio/visual immersive performance collective founded in 2016, and Flux:Intermedia, a project influenced by the Fluxus group of artists bringing together music, dance, literature, live visuals and creative lighting design (founded 2019). Both have been funded by Arts Council England, alongside commissioned versions by Middlesbrough Sonic Arts Week, Norwich Science Festival and Norwich Arts Centre.

Bill Vine was educated at the University of East Anglia where he completed his PhD in composition. His thesis was entitled “Composing the Instrument: An Alternative Approach to Musical Relationships between Composer, Instrument, Performer and Audience”
